Is it Harder to Become a YouTube Partner these day's?

I have been on youtube for quite some time now, and I have realized that youtube is pretty annoying to a lot of people out there. Mostly because of the copyright laws, and it takes forever to get a respectable amount of subscribers and views for most people. Also when you type your youtube video's name in the search bar letter for letter, space for space, comma for comma, and you still wont find it in a reasonable time frame. SO my question for everyone out there is, do you think youtube is being unfair for the youtube community as a whole? You have you big shots on youtube like FRED, which a lot of people tend to dislike Fred... but he still ended up on a television show, and was the first to reach 1,000,000 subscribers on youtube, His subscriber rate continues to go up and up. It is no doubt that youtube is telling the community what to watch, and who to subscribe to and not letting you community discover smaller youtube channels, such as myself and others, on their own. Making it even harder for them to become a youtube partber. I am soon going to be looking for a good alternative for youtube pretty soon, and I hope that people who are smart enough will do the same. Because there is no more You in YouTube, it is merely a corporation now, and only the big guys can have a say.
